This page sets out the legal limits of what shipfrombali.com publishes and promises. Every rate and transit time on this site is a dated, indicative benchmark — not a fixed offer. Destination customs authorities, not Ship From Bali, decide your import duty. Nothing here is licensed legal, tax, or financial advice. All figures are stated as of 2026 and subject to change.

What Do Our Published Rates and Transit Times Actually Mean?
Ship From Bali publishes all-in rate tables — per CBM for LCL sea freight, per kg for air, and per container for FCL — because we believe you should see real numbers before you talk to anyone. Those numbers are honest, dated market benchmarks, not standing offers.
A worked example of how they move: LCL sea freight from Indonesia to the USA ran roughly USD 150-250 per CBM through 2025, with a competitive band cited at USD 100-150. Sea transit Bali to the USA runs roughly 6-12 weeks, and according to FreightAmigo’s 2025 Indonesia-USA data, actual door counts span 28-45 days depending on the port pair. Fuel surcharges rose about 12% in 2025 alone. Currency, peak-season demand, and carrier capacity shift these figures month to month.
A figure becomes confirmed on us only when it appears in a written quotation issued to you. We commit to issuing that all-in quote within 24 business hours of receiving complete cargo details, and every quote states its own validity window on its face.
| What you see on this site | Legal status |
|---|---|
| Per-CBM LCL and per-kg air rate tables | Dated indicative benchmark, subject to change without notice |
| Transit-time tables for US, Australia and EU routes | Guide figures; no carrier guarantees sailing or arrival dates |
| Import duty explainers and worked examples | General information only, never a ruling on your specific goods |
| Your written quote, issued within 24 business hours | A confirmed offer, valid for the period printed on it |
Who Actually Decides Your Import Duty and Taxes?
Not us, and not any freight forwarder. Import duty, GST or VAT, and clearance outcomes at destination are decided solely by the customs authority of the receiving country — US Customs and Border Protection, the Australian Border Force, or the relevant EU member-state administration.
For most international shipments, the consignee (the importer, usually you at destination) pays these charges. Port-to-port quotes exclude destination duties, port taxes, clearance fees, and last-mile delivery unless your written quote expressly states door-to-door and itemises what is included.
We prepare commercial invoices with HS codes on every line, using the classifications made mandatory by the 2025 HS updates. Final classification, valuation, and any inspection decision still rest with the destination customs service. Australia additionally enforces quarantine and biosecurity screening on wood, rattan, and used household goods; we arrange fumigation and treatment documentation before loading, but the final inspection call at the Australian border is never ours to make. Any duty estimate we give you is exactly that — an estimate.
Are We Affiliated With Any Carrier or Government Body?
No. Ship From Bali is an independent service. This site references Indonesia’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Ministry of Finance), the Ministry of Trade’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade, and the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) because those bodies govern export clearance and electronic trade filings from Bali as of 2026. Mentioning them describes the rules we work under; it does not imply endorsement, appointment, or any official relationship.
The same applies to shipping lines, airlines operating from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the Port of Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, and any named platform or data source. All trademarks belong to their owners.
What Is Ship From Bali — and What Are We Not?
Ship From Bali is operated by Ship From Bali and is part of Juara Holding Group, established 2015. We act as your shipping concierge: we scope your cargo, issue the all-in quote, and coordinate the move end to end.
The physical work — ocean and air carriage, export packing, trucking from Bali to Surabaya, fumigation, and customs brokerage — is arranged via vetted licensed partners. We are not the vessel operator, the airline, or a customs authority, and we do not claim to be.
We are also not a licensed legal, tax, financial, or immigration adviser. Content on duty rates, biosecurity rules, or personal-effects concessions is general information. For confirmed advice on your tax position or restricted goods, consult a licensed professional in the destination country.
How Do We Handle Your Personal Data Under UU PDP and GDPR?
When you submit our quote form, message us through the quote form, or email us, you share personal data: your name, contact details, pickup and delivery addresses, and a cargo inventory. We process that data under Indonesia’s Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP), which has been fully enforceable since October 2024. For visitors from the EU and UK, we apply GDPR-aware handling standards to the same data.
Purpose is limited to preparing your quote, coordinating your booking, and producing export documents — a commercial invoice, packing list, and Bill of Lading or Air Waybill legally require shipper and consignee details. Your data is shared only with the licensed partners who need it to move your cargo. We do not sell personal data.
| Your right | UU PDP (Law 27/2022) | GDPR (EU/UK visitors) |
|---|---|---|
| Obtain a copy of your data | Yes | Yes |
| Correct inaccurate data | Yes | Yes |
| Request deletion | Yes, subject to retention rules | Yes, same limits apply |
| Object to marketing contact | Yes | Yes |
One honest limit: export documents filed with customs must be retained for the audit periods Indonesian regulation sets, so a deletion request cannot erase records already lodged with a customs authority.
What Are the Honest Booking, Liability, and Insurance Terms?
- Quotes. Confirmed within 24 business hours of complete cargo details; valid only for the window stated on the quote.
- Transit times. Never guaranteed. Weather, port congestion, customs inspection, and the standard Bali-Surabaya-Singapore transshipment path for LCL can all extend published guide figures.
- Fragile goods. LCL cargo is trucked to Surabaya and transshipped at least twice. We flag this risk and apply export-standard packing, but shared-container handling can never be made risk-free.
- Liability. Carrier liability is capped by international carriage conventions, usually far below the real value of furniture or art. That is why we recommend cargo insurance at about 2% of declared value, as of 2026. Uninsured cargo travels at the owner’s risk beyond those caps.
- Declarations. The shipper is responsible for accurate, lawful declarations. Penalties for misdeclared or prohibited goods fall on the shipper and consignee, not on any intermediary.
- Customs outcomes. No one can guarantee a clearance result, a duty figure, or an exemption. Anyone who does is not being straight with you.
How Do You Contact Us About This Disclaimer or Your Data?
For quotes, the form on this site is the fastest route. For questions about this disclaimer, or to exercise a data right under UU PDP or the GDPR, message WhatsApp or email the contact form. We respond to data-rights requests within the timelines UU PDP requires.
This disclaimer is reviewed whenever our rate pages change or regulation moves — and regulation is moving: electronic customs documentation, risk screening, and US de minimis scrutiny are all expected to tighten through 2027. The date at the top tells you when we last checked.
