Sea or air?
Sea for weight and volume, air for deadlines. Sea cargo is trucked to Surabaya’s Port of Tanjung Perak, then transshipped via Java and Singapore. Air cargo leaves Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, priced on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater.
Under roughly 100 kg, air often beats LCL once minimum sea charges are counted. Above one cubic metre, sea nearly always wins on price.
- Sea LCL: USD 150–250 per CBM to the USA
- Sea FCL 20ft: about USD 2,500–4,500 to the USA
- Air economy: USD 4–7 per kg, 7–10 days
- Air express: USD 5–12 per kg, 2–7 days
