**Ship From Bali collects only the details you type into our quote form — your name, contact route, cargo description and destination — and uses them for one purpose: preparing your binding shipping quote. Data is processed under Indonesia’s Law 27/2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP), shared solely with our operating quotes desk, and never sold.**
Effective date: 18 July 2026. This policy applies to shipfrombali.com and to every enquiry submitted through it.
Who is responsible for your personal data?
Ship From Bali is a publication of Juara Holding Group, the publisher entity behind this site since 2015. Enquiries submitted here are handled by the quotes desk of Ship From Bali, an independent Bali-based concierge that arranges international freight through vetted licensed partners — freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers. Ship From Bali does not own vessels, aircraft or bonded warehouses, and this page is not legal or tax advice.
For the purposes of UU PDP, the publisher acts as the data controller for this website. The quotes desk and any licensed partner engaged for your shipment act as processors or joint handlers, working only on documented instructions tied to your enquiry.
What information does the quote form collect?
The quote form is the only place on this site where you actively hand us personal data. We keep it deliberately short.
| Data category | Examples | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Full name | To address your quote correctly |
| Contact | Email address; phone number if you choose to give one | To deliver your binding quote within 24 business hours |
| Shipment details | Cargo type (furniture, art, personal effects), estimated volume in CBM or weight in kg, pickup area in Bali, destination country and port | To price your shipment per CBM or per kg and check route feasibility |
| Free-text message | Special handling notes, timing constraints | To flag fragile goods, packing needs or deadlines |
| Technical | IP address, browser type, pages visited | Site security and aggregate performance measurement |
Do not enter passport numbers, bank details or payment card numbers into the form. We never ask for them there, and any document exchange for customs paperwork happens later, directly with the quotes desk, only after you accept a quote.
How is your enquiry shared with the quotes desk?
When you submit the form, your enquiry is routed to the operating quotes desk at Ship From Bali. They reply on the channel you provided — email or WhatsApp — and you can also reach them directly at the contact form or WhatsApp .
If you accept a quote, the specific fields needed to execute the shipment (name, address, cargo description, HS-code-relevant details) are passed to the licensed partners performing the work: the freight forwarder, the export packer, the customs broker filing through Indonesia’s INSW system, and the destination agent in the USA, Australia or the EU. Nothing more is shared than each partner needs, and no partner may reuse your data for marketing.
We do not sell personal data, rent enquiry lists, or run third-party advertising audiences. As of July 2026, that has never happened and is not planned.
Which laws protect you — UU PDP and GDPR?
Indonesia’s Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) is the primary law governing this site, with its full compliance obligations in force since October 2024. Under UU PDP we rely on three legal bases: your consent (submitting the form), performance of pre-contractual steps (preparing the quote you asked for), and legitimate interest (keeping the site secure).
Because most of our visitors are foreigners shipping home, we also apply GDPR-consistent standards for readers in the EEA, UK and similar jurisdictions: data minimisation, purpose limitation, and the access and erasure rights listed below. Submitting the form means your data is transferred to and processed in Indonesia; UU PDP’s cross-border rules require us to ensure recipient countries or contracts provide comparable protection, and our partner agreements reflect that.
Do we use cookies and analytics?
Yes, sparingly. As of July 2026 this site sets essential cookies needed for the site and form to function, plus privacy-respecting analytics that report aggregate numbers — pages viewed, country of visit, device type — not individual profiles. We run no advertising pixels and no remarketing tags.
| Cookie type | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Form submission, spam protection, load balancing | Session to 12 months |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic measurement | Up to 26 months |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the quote form still works with analytics cookies refused.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep personal data only as long as each record type genuinely requires:
- Quote enquiries that do not become bookings — deleted or anonymised within 12 months of last contact.
- Booking and shipping records (commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading or Air Waybill data) — retained up to 10 years, because Indonesian tax and customs record-keeping rules require long retention of export documentation.
- Email and WhatsApp threads with the quotes desk — kept for the duration of the customer relationship plus 24 months, then deleted.
- Aggregate analytics — 26 months, then discarded.
What are your rights over your data?
Under UU PDP — and, for European visitors, under GDPR-style principles — you can:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or outdated details.
- Delete your data, subject to the customs and tax retention duties above.
- Object to or restrict processing, including withdrawing consent at any time.
- Port your data in a common machine-readable format.
- Complain to Indonesia’s data protection authority under UU PDP, or to your home supervisory authority if you are in the EEA or UK.
Send any request through the site’s contact form or to the contact form. We aim to acknowledge within a few working days and resolve requests without undue delay. If a data breach ever affects you, UU PDP obliges us to notify the authority and affected individuals within 3×24 hours of discovery, and we will.
What about quotes, bookings and liability?
A few honest terms, so the privacy promises above sit in context. Rates published on this site are guide figures dated to their source year and subject to change; a quote becomes binding only when confirmed in writing by the quotes desk. Binding quotes cover the origin services listed in them — destination import duty, GST/VAT and customs charges are payable by the consignee unless your written door-to-door terms state otherwise. Carriage itself is performed by licensed carriers under their own conditions and international conventions, and cargo insurance (typically around 2% of declared value, as of 2026) is recommended for every shipment. Ship From Bali acts as a concierge and broker, not the asset owner.
How do you contact us or track changes to this policy?
The contact form on shipfrombali.com is the primary route for privacy questions; the quotes desk also answers at the contact form. When this policy changes, we post the revised version here with a new effective date — material changes affecting active customers are flagged directly in reply threads. This version is effective 18 July 2026.
