How the route works

From Bali to Europe via Surabaya and Singapore

Most personal shipments travel LCL, paying per CBM for shared space. Cargo is trucked to Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, then transshipped via Singapore before the long leg to Europe.

  1. LCL — under 13 CBM

    Cheapest for small moves; extra handling is why packing matters for teak, stone and art.

  2. FCL — from about 13 CBM

    20ft holds about 30 CBM, 40ft about 60, 40ft high cube about 70 — loaded and sealed in Bali.

  3. Air — urgent or under 200 kg

    From Denpasar airport, priced on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher.

How long does door-to-door shipping from Bali to Europe take?

Sea freight runs 6–12 weeks as of 2026: about a week for packing and export clearance, five to six weeks sailing via Surabaya and Singapore, then customs and delivery. Air takes 3–10 business days.

Do I pay import VAT on household goods shipped to the EU?

By default yes — 19–22% by country, on goods plus freight and insurance. Moving your main residence with items owned six months or more? Transfer-of-residence relief removes both duty and VAT.

Can I still ship furniture from Bali to the UK after Brexit?

Yes. The UK clears separately, usually at Felixstowe: 20% VAT and typically 0–2% furniture duty. Used personal effects enter free if HMRC approves your ToR1 application before the container sails.

Is door to door cheaper than port to port?

Port-to-port quotes exclude destination port fees, clearance, VAT handling and last-mile trucking. An all-in door-to-door rate prices every leg upfront — usually cheaper overall, and never a surprise invoice at Rotterdam.

Which European port will my shipment arrive at?

It follows your postcode: Rotterdam for Benelux, Hamburg for Germany, Felixstowe for the UK, Le Havre for France, Valencia, Barcelona or Genoa for Spain and Italy. The broker collects, clears and delivers.
